Brewer: “Labovic called me a black monkey”

Though hampered by numerous injuries, Zadar point guard Corey Brewer was there when his team needed him the most. He was the go-to-guy down the stretch and led Zadar to an important win with a pair of free throws. “The most important thing is that we won. The team just needs to continue getting Euroleague points. I’ve been struggling with my physical condition lately and hope to get better. I’m confident we can go all the way and win the championship.”

Brewer also mentioned an incident involving FMP team captain Dragan Labovic. “FMP’s Labovic called me a black monkey in the game. I couldn’t respond to that, the only thing that I could do is to win the game and make him suffer in that way. If you say that, it just shows how uneducated, ignorant and stupid person you are.”

Power forward Jere Macura got into foul trouble early on and contributed three points in 14 minutes of action. “FMP is a tough opponent, but we were fortunate enough to win. We play Hemofarm in the semis, it’s a team we already defeated twice and I think they’re a better choice than Buducnost. We have the Cibona game coming up in a couple of days and we’re going there to win.”
